What shipping method should I use if I want to ship a pair of shoes in their original box?
I sold a pair of shoes and want to ship them out. The dimension of the shoe box is 13.5" x 9" x 3.75" I don't think any of the flat rate boxes will fit... so where do I get a packaging box? I used the USPS shipping calculator and it said it should cost around $5 to ship it but this isn't including the packaging box right?

- you can get a package box from the post office and then you will have to add on your cost for the box and the packing, on top of your postage,
- charges are a mix of volume ie size of box and total weight of package. check it out with both.
- You can wrap the box with brown wrappingg and put your label on it and when the paper is removed the box will as good as new and cheaper too. If you have to purchase packaging, then you must add that cost to the shipping. The packaging at the post office (if they have your size) they carry mostly large envelops, will determine how much extra the packaging weighs, along with the regular cost to mail. Or you can take it to a UPS store and let them package it and send it forYoul It will probably cost you a couple dollars more. But, if you wrap it yourself, it will not cost anymore. You can purchased a big roll of brown paper real cheap and use it for others things too. Or you can take a brown paper bag, like the groceries come in and open it up and use that as your wrapping paper, which will cost you nothing extra.
- You can use any box your shoe box will fit it. You may have one lying around your house. Or you will have to purchase one. I also agree that it might be best to get some brown paper on a roll, and wrap the package with that, then label it and send it off. It will not cost any extra postage that way. But, you do not have to have a special box, any box that she shoe box firs in will do. Even if you have to put some packing inside a larger box. More than likely by putting your shoes in another box and having to pack it, will cost a little more. The larger the box the more it cost. The post office goes by the size, shape and weight of the box to determine the cost of shipping.
